ABOUT JODI STROM

Jodi is a Certified Art Therapist and Registered Clinical Counsellor. She is currently a Service Provider for BC’s First Nation Health Authority and also works in private practice and on contract with women in recovery from violence.

Jodi has worked in addiction treatment and recovery as a counselor, art therapist, and indigenous program liaison. Art therapy was a natural confluence of Jodi’s experience and training as an art educator, artist, and administrator and her work in the addiction field, including her own recovery from codependency and trauma. As such, she brings both a professional and personal lens to her practice in support of others seeking recovery or to improve their well-being.

Her therapeutic approach is rooted in Positive Psychology and is strength-based, trauma-informed, inclusive, and collaborative in nature. Jodi creates the safety, support, and opportunity for the client to release fear and anxiety so they can freely explore themselves through art materials. The art materials act as a container for our emotion and our stories and convey what may be difficult or impossible to express in words. Individuals can then start to make sense and meaning of these stories and begin their healing journey.
