DONOR STEWARDSHIP & OPERATIONS
she / her
I am recovering from:
Substance use disorder, disordered eating, anxiety, sexual assault, codependency, low self-worth.
The identity-based group(s) I am a part of:
Healthcare & allied professional.
My personal definition of recovery:
A return to the true nature of who I was intended to be.
What led me to SHE RECOVERS:
The camaraderie and genuine love and respect in the SHE RECOVERS community.
Why I love being a part of this team and non-profit organization:
SRF lit the spark of my passion and desire to change the narrative about who, why, and how we recover. Being a part of this amazing team of change-makers is both humbling and inspiring!
Those that know me best might describe me as:
Loyal, funny, and adventurous.
How these qualities show up in my everyday life:
I look for and see the humor in everything, always willing to try new things, and I show up fully for my friends, my family, and my work.
Something unique you may not already know about me:
I’m obsessed with puzzles (just like my sister Dawn Nickel), and I will find any reason to go to NYC!
Something I am most proud of:
I am most proud of my recovery because it gave me back the gift of presence, and in that, I am available and here for those I love.
Radical self-care look for me looks like:
Some days radical self-care looks like a bubble bath and going to bed early. Some days it’s saying no to things. Some days it’s a girls trip.
What I wanted to be when I grew up:
A Grammy-winning singer!
Something that is inspiring me right now:
Making and being a witness to connections in this community. Awe-inspiring!
The SHE RECOVERS Intention & Guiding Principle resonating the most with me right now is…
Recovery is a journey to wholeness. We learn to take care of our body, mind, emotions & spirit.
My favorite SHE RECOVERS resource is…
The SHE RECOVERS Together Online Support Group.
