I am recovering from:
Substance misuse, grief and loss.
The identity-based group(s) I am a part of:
Pregnancy loss, postpartum depression, anxiety, sexual assault, trauma.
My personal definition of recovery:
Recovery to me means a state of being awake and feeling to all the world is offering and improving upon my experience every day.
What led me to SHE RECOVERS:
I have been a member of the SHE RECOVERS community since its infancy. As a supporter and fan of what was a Facebook page in 2011, to then becoming a SHE RECOVERS in NYC conference panelist, a blog contributor turned SHE RECOVERS Coach Designate, a Salt Spring Island retreat attendee, a SHE RECOVERS Sharing Circle and Gathering Host, and now a part of the SHE RECOVERS Foundation marketing team.
Why I love being a part of this team and non-profit organization:
I want to redefine recovery, make recovery more accessible and help change the lives of women who are seeking recovery.
Those that know me best might describe me as:
Compassionate, curious, and free spirited.
How these qualities show up in my everyday life:
They define who I am and how I moved through the world.
Something unique you may not already know about me:
I think I’ve posted about my entire life on the internet, so this question stumps me. I’ve had six knee surgeries. I’ve collected stickers since I was a kid.
Something I am most proud of:
A decade of sobriety and self-development work
Radical self-care look for me looks like:
Strict work boundaries, scheduling time for fun things (massage, beach day, vacation), and important things like doctor appts. Allowing myself to scroll TikTok because it brings me joy.
What I wanted to be when I grew up:
Veterinarian.
Something that is inspiring me right now:
Gen Z and their outlook on life and capitalism.
The SHE RECOVERS Intention & Guiding Principle resonating the most with me right now is…
We do our individual work in order to create & hold healing spaces for everyone. All women deserve recovery.
My favorite SHE RECOVERS resource is…
The SHE RECOVERS Together Online Gatherings.
