EVENTS & CREATOR of SHE RECOVERS DANCE
she / her
I am recovering from:
Alcohol use disorder, perfectionism, overworking, codependency, and relinquishment trauma.
The identity-based group(s) I am a part of:
Mother of a high needs child, adoptee.
My personal definition of recovery:
To be supported and empowered to heal and recover from anything that is no longer serving me. To be connected to other like-minded individuals who inspire and support each other.
What led me to SHE RECOVERS:
The need for community. The desire to help other women experience holistic recovery. To grow as a human and make a difference during my time here on the planet!
Why I love being a part of this team:
I believe in the mission of SHE RECOVERS and have experienced and witnessed the impact of the community. I want all women who are seeking recovery to have access to the support and community that SHE RECOVERS offers. It’s truly life-changing!
Those that know me best might describe me as:
Grounded, joyful, and organized.
How these qualities show up in my everyday life:
I have a calming presence and I think I help ground other people including my son. My organizational skills help me to do the things that I want to do when I am juggling a lot. Having fun and cultivating joy are things I value and try to infuse into my daily life. I only have one life that I know of so joyful experiences are something I want to remember at the end of my life.
Something unique you may not already know about me:
I LOVE musicals. And, I talk to animals. Any animal that crosses my path…I like to have a little chat with them.
Something I am most proud of:
SHE RECOVERS Dance. My son. My recovery.
Radical self-care look for me looks like:
Loving myself through thick and thin. Daily activities that help me find a sense of center and are grounding.
What I wanted to be when I grew up:
Singer and dancer.
Something that is inspiring me right now:
The power of women gathering; yoga and SHE RECOVERS Dance; movement modalities that are new to me like qigong and functional movement; my coach and her teachings.
The SHE RECOVERS Intention & Guiding Principle resonating the most with me right now is…
Recovery is a journey to wholeness. We learn to take care of our body, mind, emotions, and spirit.
My favorite SHE RECOVERS resource is…
SHE RECOVERS Dance. I believe the body has its own story to tell and its own healing to experience. SHE RECOVERS Dance It’s a sharing circle like no other! We bring our bodies and movement into our recovery which is so healing. Second is the SHE RECOVERS Support for Mothers of High Needs Children because I am a mother of a high needs child and it is a relentlessly supportive group of women who understand and can relate to my experience.
