Executive Function in Recovery With Lisa Abbott Moore
Did you know executive function plays into every aspect of our lives? And we can experience executive disfunction. Some of these issues may not come forward until we are in recovery. We are thrilled to have expert, Lisa Abbott Moore, with us speaking about using our skills to manage our day-to-day function.
During this engaging session of #MentalHealthMonday Lisa will help us learn:
- What is executive function and why is it important?
- How to do a self-assessment
- Regulating our emotions with self-talk
- Listening, prioritization, and organization
- How to initiate, follow-through, and finish activities
ABOUT LISA
Lisa Abbott Moore is a dual certified (American/Canadian) speech language pathologist whose 28 years of practice spans working in the NICU to the geriatric population. She has worked internationally to provide teaching and services in Brazil, Romania, Ghana, and Cambodia. Her love of the arts began as a child and included dance, singing, theatre, jewelry making, felting, and painting. Over the years she has combined the arts with her practice as an SLP to increase the connection she makes with her clients. Having also always had a strong level of spiritual integrity, she trained as an Intuitive Counselor and has been learning and practicing the Celtic Earth Based Healing Arts for the past 10 years. Her work is mainly with adolescents and adults on finding their authentic voice, fluency disorders, gender-affirming voice concerns, executive function disorders, and corporate communication concerns. Lisa teaches a structured yet flexible type of art lessons that humans at all levels of skill and abilities can access. She is passionate about using art for social change and to express thoughts and ideas.
