Expand Beyond Recovery | A #MentalHealthMonday Recovery Education Session

In this session of the #MentalHealthMonday Recovery Education Series, SHE RECOVERS Dance Creator, Trauma-Informed Embodied Movement Practitioner, and Founder of her own Expand Beyond Recovery Membership, Payton Kennedy will explore why embodied practices are an essential part of a recovery pathway, patchwork or program. Payton will share the SHE RECOVERS philosophy of redefining recovery for ourselves; how we can “expand beyond recovery”; and what the future might look like for the next generation of embodied, recovering women.

Payton will guide us to:

    • Understand how including our physical bodies in our recovery can facilitate more healing, growth and expansion
    • Identify what embodied movement is and the connection between our physical selves and the environments we inhabit
    • Discover how embodied practices can help women heal from trauma, mental health issues, and substance use
    • Explore embodied movement practices designed for individual and collective healing
    • Create holistic opportunities for healing by redefining our recovery

Join us LIVE for a Q & A session following the presentation.

Recover right where you are.

The mission at Aware Recovery Care is to help people affected by addiction “Recover Where You Live.” At Aware Recovery Care, they transform the home into a treatment center, delivering innovative addiction services to those in need where they live. Aware Recovery Care treats addiction like a chronic illness, and their groundbreaking and evidence-based treatment approach provides comprehensive care from a multidisciplinary team of clinicians led by an Addiction Psychiatrist, a Family Systems Therapist, a Registered Nurse, and two Certified Recovery Advisors. They help their clients learn new skills and daily habits required to maintain abstinence while remaining amongst family and friends in their community, thereby eliminating the often difficult return home from traditional treatment options. Privacy and anonymity are respected, and dignity is preserved as they provide discreet and effective addiction care.
