The Expressions of Service: Exploring Our Gifts with Elizabeth Bishop

Service is energy, expression, and action. Whether traditional, alternative, or informal, we can all contribute to the world in ways that have personal meaning, cultivate joy and fulfillment, and have an impact. Service is a self-filled and self-responsive act as opposed to one of sacrifice and depletion. In this session, we’ll explore how service is personally expressed, how joy and fulfillment are inherent to the experience of wellness, and how natural sensitivity is a superpower. Developing self-responsive behavior is a deeply personally honoring practice safeguarding us against the risk of self-abandonment which may result in the desire to escape or numb through various forms of substance use and/or co-dependent behavior.

During this engaging session of #MentalHealthMonday Elizabeth will help us learn:

  • The true definition of service and how is it expressed in your life
  • The importance of joy and fulfillment in wellbeing and as a roadmap for contribution
  • Why sensitivity is a superpower
  • How to identify characteristics of self-abandonment and self-responsive behavior
