Frequently Asked Questions

If you have additional questions regarding the program, please email Liana at ms.lianakennedy@gmail.com

What is coaching?

Coaching is not therapy, and coaches do not assess people. Coaching is strengths-based and action oriented with a focus on the present and the future. The relationship between coach and client is collaborative, with coaches acting in a guiding, not directing role. Coaches can provide reality checks and serve as a change agent to assist you in identifying and achieving the goals that you have chosen for yourself.

Who can participate in this coaching program?

Women (self-identified)18 years or older who are in recovery are welcome to join us.

What do you mean by “being in recovery"?

SHE RECOVERS welcomes women recovering in all areas of life, including but not limited to substance use disorders, disordered eating, grief, trauma, divorce, etc. As we always say, we are all recovering from something. We usually find that 70-80% of the women who participate in our various offerings are in recovery from substance use issues. For this program, we recommend that if you are in substance use recovery that you have at least some experience living substance free (6 months would be ideal).

When are the weekly sessions held?

On Tuesday evenings for six sessions, a 90-minute Zoom video session will be held at:

*5pm Pacific *6pm Mountain *7pm Central *8pm Eastern

How do I attend the weekly sessions?

The sessions are held via Zoom – all you will have to do is click on the link that will be provided to you and download the Zoom app – it only takes a minute.

Do I need a Facebook account to participate?

We strongly recommend that you have a Facebook account as we have created a *Secret* Facebook Group just for your program cohort. The Secret Facebook Group will be a place to connect, support and empower one another. We will be sharing resources and Coaches will provide daily support in the group. Although we encourage you to participate in the Group to enhance your program experience, your participation is voluntary. Please note: *Secret* Facebook Groups are the most private of all Facebook Groups. No aspect of a Secret group is publicly visible, new members must be added or invited by administrators to join, and only members can see the content of group posts.

Will I need to reveal anything specific about my finances?

No, all financial information can be kept private unless you decide you want to disclose anything. This course explores our relationship and patterns with money and does not focus on details of your financial position.

Do I have to "speak" on the weekly calls?

We encourage you to participate at whatever level you feel most comfortable. If you prefer just to listen on the coaching calls that is fine.

Will I be able to listen to a recording of calls?

Yes, if you are unable to make the calls live, we will send out recordings within 24 hours of each session for you to listen to at your convenience. Materials for the course will also be available for each participant to access in between sessions.

I am very private about my recovery - is this program confidential?

Yes, we are very committed to ensuring your privacy. We will ask all participants to adhere to our confidentiality policy. You can decide whether or not you want to have your video camera turned on during the Zoom sessions. You can use a different name for your Facebook profile if you are worried about using your real name in our Secret Facebook Group. *Secret* Facebook Groups Secret groups are the most private of all Facebook Groups. No aspect of a Secret group is publicly visible, new members must be added or invited by administrators to join, and only members can see the content of group posts.

How much time out of class is expected?

The amount of time you dedicate is entirely up to you. However, we will assign exercises and provide journal prompts to be completed in between sessions so the typical amount of out of class time expected is approximately 1 hour per week. We will also provide suggested reading and additional reference material to explore between classes, if you are interested.

How long can I expect support after the program ends?

The best thing about this program is that you will be building relationships with other participants. Even after the program ends – the Facebook Group will live on for those who wish to remain in community. You can expect program Coaches to check in on the Group for two months following the program completion.

What is the refund policy?

This course is an investment in your recovery – we ask that you make the commitment to yourself when you decide to participate and that you keep that commitment. If there are extenuating circumstances – and the program has not yet started – you can request that we transfer your registration to the next date that the program runs. We do not provide refunds once the program has started.
