Mitigating Weight Stigma with Food & Body Neutrality with Hannah Sharkey of Eating Recovery Center

#MentalHealthMonday Recovery Education Session

In this session of the #MentalHealthMonday Recovery Edition series, Hannah Sharkey will introduce what is diet culture, how it shows up in our world, and the significant impacts it has on every human, specifically rolling into a new year when diet culture is rampant.

From a neutral nutrition lens with an all food fits approach, Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and Clinical Dietitian Training Specialist Hannah Sharkey of Eating Recovery Center will:

  • Discuss the importance of adequate nourishment with a variety of food groups and provide examples of ways to get curious around food.
  • Identify, explore, and discuss the importance of food and body neutrality and how to incorporate in our day-to-day lives.
  • Define anti-fat bias and weight stigma and discuss the stigmatizing language related to weight and bodies.

Join us LIVE for a Q & A session following the presentation.
