Recovery Advocacy for the Next Generation | #MentalHealthMonday Recovery Education Session

This special edition of #MentalHealthMonday is in honor of International Youth Day and the SHE RECOVERS Next Generation Youth Action Committee.

The future is now, and young women in recovery know what they want and are doing their best to advocate for it.

Are you interested in recovery advocacy but don’t know where or how to start? In this session of Mental Health Monday, Alexandra Nyman will show us how to become effective proponents for the recovery community. She’ll break down the basics of recovery advocacy and explain how and why it is such a powerful and important tool. Alexandra will share tips on building strong relationships and creating effective communication strategies to inspire action from local businesses to members of Congress! She will explain the need for advocacy in the field of recovery and tell you exactly how you can get involved. Whether you’re aiming to make waves at the federal, state, or local level, these tactics will have you advocating with confidence in no time!

During this session of #MentalHealthMonday, on International Youth Day, Alexandra will:

  • Introduce recovery advocacy, and explain its concepts and approaches
  • Show us how to select advocacy priorities
  • Demonstrate the application of key elements of advocacy strategy design
  • Share how we can expand and learn from existing advocacy, influential experiences, and established expertise

Join us LIVE for a Q & A session following the presentation.
