What Participants are Saying

“As a woman recovering from substance misuse, gender-based trauma, and codependency, I needed a space where I didn’t have to compartmentalize my journey and recovery. From my first SHE RECOVERS meeting, I truly felt that all of who I am was welcome. This community has helped me feel less alone in my recovery and more connected to myself and others. I leave every meeting feeling grounded and inspired.”

“I have found my SOUL sisters in the SHE RECOVERS Meeting on intherooms.com. I look forward to seeing their squares each week and hearing how they are navigating recovery. We have had so much to celebrate as a community over the years, and we absolutely love it when new women join. We can’t wait to meet you!”

“These meetings have become an anchor in my life. Some weeks I share, some weeks I just listen, but no matter what, I walk away feeling a part of something greater than just myself. I’ve built real connections here, the kind that allow me to be fully human. SHE RECOVERS helped me trust people again, trust my own intuition, and believe that healing is possible.”

Payton Kennedy, (she/her)

Payton Kennedy is a SHE RECOVERS Certified Professional, SHE RECOVERS retreat team lead, and creator of SHE RECOVERS Dance, who brings deep presence, lived experience, and embodied wisdom to everything she does. As a woman in long-term recovery and someone who has worked in recovery spaces for many years, Payton knows intimately the courage it takes to walk a healing path and learn how to thrive while tending to the responsibilities of everyday life.

Payton is a trauma-informed yoga teacher, life and recovery coach, conscious dance facilitator, and founder of Expand Beyond Recovery. She believes recovery is far more than stopping a behavior — it is an experiential and holistic process of cultivating self-trust, confidence, clarity, and embodied connection. Through movement, creative practice, grounding tools, and guided exploration, she supports people in building recovery pathways that feel authentic, sustainable, and empowering.

As a single mother to a high-needs child, Payton understands the delicate balance of weaving recovery practices into everyday life. What lights her up most is helping women connect with their authenticity, honour their lived experiences, and consciously create a recovery path that is uniquely their own.

In her words…

“The SHE RECOVERS gathering onintherooms.com is made up of members who have been with us since the very first meeting and new people who have never heard of SHE RECOVERS. We have women who have long-term recovery and are well established on their journeys; we have women in treatment or just out and living in transitional housing; we have women who are dealing with family breakdowns and the loss of their children; women from all economic backgrounds and all races; women in North America, the UK, and Europe. I think the diversity of this community reflects the SR Intentions & Guiding Principles…especially the last one, “connection is our sole (soul) purpose, we’re stronger together.”

LisaWall SHERECOVERS 1

Lisa Wall, CTP, SRCD, SRPD (she/her)

Lisa joined the SHE RECOVERS Foundation in 2019 and stewards Mission Programs & Community Care, including recovery education and programming grounded in the SHE RECOVERS Intentions & Guiding Principles.

As a woman in recovery from codependency, overworking, trauma, disordered eating, and patriarchy stress disorder–with nearly two decades of experience in recovery-focused care–Lisa weaves somatic practices, trauma-informed approaches, earth-based spirituality, and heart-centered community care to support women and non-binary individuals in reclaiming their own pathways and patchworks of recovery. A certified trauma professional, somatic practitioner, intimacy educator, and certified recovery coach with a diploma in addiction medicine, she brings both grit and grace to her work. Her leadership is deeply rooted in social justice and the belief that recovery is revolutionary and can lead to personal and collective liberation.

Lisa lives and works on a remote island, where slow living, ritual, creativity, and reciprocity with the natural world shape her recovery and the way she leads. She is also the founder of HiveKind, Sacred Recovery, and the creatrix of Reclaiming Recovery, an earth-based, cyclical approach to healing for the magickally-minded.

In her words…

“Recovery is not a straight line or a single story. It is a living cycle of rituals, relationships, reckonings, revelations, and radical self-love. Gathering in recovery is a revolutionary act of resistance against the status quo. And here, you do not have to edit yourself to belong. You get to arrive exactly as you are, with your tenderness, wisdom, rough edges, and unfinished stories. In this space, I am reminded that healing happens in communities where we are supported to be courageously vulnerable.”
