Support for LGBTQ+

Are you seeking a…

❤️ Down-to-earth, non-judgmental, and welcoming LGBTQ+ recovery focused group?

🧡 Place where you can connect on a deeper level with like-hearted folks who relate to your lived experience?

💛 Group where you can speak your truth and share your story while feeling seen, heard, and held?

💚 Opportunity to live in your full expression, sexuality, and gender identity while recovering out loud in a space that embraces and celebrates all of who you are?

💙 Community where nothing but compassion and support are offered?

💜 Intentional family where you can feel at home, unconditionally accepted, and loved for who you are, just as you are?

Being in a community with others who understand the unique challenges you face, and surrounding yourself with people who are truly committed to healing both individually and collectively, is an essential system of support  for LGBTQ+ folks in recovery.

“It can be difficult to feel completely comfortable in larger groups that are largely heterosexual, even when we know and understand that SHE RECOVERS is an inclusive space and promotes trauma-informed connections. LGBTQ+ individuals face many adverse life experiences some of which are created and imposed by others.  While we now live in a world where being queer is much more accepted, there are still incidents of identity-based judgment, hatred, and violence that occur.  It is so very necessary that the LGBTQ+ community has places where they can show up without fear of mistreatment of any kind. I feel that the SRF LGBTQ+ group is one of these places.”

– SHE RECOVERS Coach & Group Facilitator, Cary Kelley Wright

It is no secret that LGBTQ+ folks face discrimination, social stigma, and are at greater risk of harassment and violence than their cis-hetero counterparts. The LGBTQ+ population is also nearly three times more likely to struggle with a substance use disorder.

When we meet

If you are a recovering queer woman, trans woman, or a non-binary individual who identifies with women’s communities, this dedicated space is designed just for you. Connect with like-hearted folks, find healing through the private SRF Support for LGBTQ+ Group, or attend a weekly gathering facilitated by SHE RECOVERS Certified Professionals.

This community connects 24/7 in the SRF Support for LGBTQ+ group and gathers online weekly on Sundays from 7:30 to 8:30 AM PT.

What folks are saying about the SHE RECOVERS® support for LGBTQ+ Group

“This group feels like coming home. This space offers participants the opportunity to show up in the fullness of who they are without any worry of judgment or criticism. This group feels like family in the best of ways.”
“Because of this group, I felt safe to come out as bisexual after hiding this part of myself for over twenty years. I was so depressed for having to silence this part of who I am, and now I feel whole. I feel free.”
“As a trans woman I longed for a space that respected, accepted, and loved me for who I am. I finally feel like I belong and have made so many friends I know will last a lifetime.”
“So much of what I am recovering from is related to the hatred I have faced because of my identity and sexuality. As a non-binary person, to be told that my gender expression is invalid and have no one stand up for me was traumatic. Through this group I have learned to heal, and I recover out loud so others don’t have to feel so alone.”

Cary Kelley Wright (she/her) – SRCD, CPRC, CPC, Bs Psych.

Cary is a certified professional recovery coach, SHE RECOVERS Coach Designate, and certified life coach. Cary strongly believes that our healing is rooted in our pain. She focuses her coaching on creating opportunities for clients to connect with self, others, and spirit to promote healing. Cary is in long-term recovery from alcohol use disorder, co-dependence, perfectionism, and ultra-independence, among other things. Her life’s purpose is to walk alongside other self-identified women and non-binary individuals who identify with women’s communities as they seek new ways to meet life’s challenges, create healthy patterns, and develop more fulfilling lives.

“I learned of SHE RECOVERS when I was in treatment for substance use disorder, and once I realized that I could become a recovery coach, I knew I wanted to get the SHE RECOVERS Coach Designation and give back to this amazing recovery collective.  SHE RECOVERS is a lifeline for women in recovery, and I very much wanted to be a part of that. Volunteering truly helps me to stay grounded in my own recovery work and offers me the opportunity to share my own recovery and my coaching knowledge with group members and other SHE RECOVERS Professionals.”
