Eating Recovery Center

Evidence-based eating disorder therapy.

Eating Recovery Center (ERC) is a national leader in eating disorder treatment and provides unmatched care for complex medical and psychiatric conditions, including eating disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. ERC collaboratively creates compassionate and individualized treatment plans that support holistic healing, skills-building, and empowerment to help maintain recovery.

Though ERC has been a SHE RECOVERS Trusted Resource for several years, SHE RECOVERS Foundation and ERC started 2024 by collaborating on the SHE RECOVERS Food & Body Neutrality Philosophy followed swiftly by a #MentalHealthMonday Recovery Education Session on Mitigating Weight Stigma with Food & Body Neutrality with Hanna Sharkey of ERC. In March, ERC became the official watch party sponsor of our International Women’s Day, RISING ROOTED: Redefining Recovery with the Next Generation event, and we have further plans for partnership coming up later this year for recovery month. SHE RECOVERS Foundation is grateful to ERC for their ongoing partnership and outstanding commitment to eating disorder recovery and mental health.

Conversations & Resources

SHE RECOVERS Food & Body Neutrality Philosophy

This philosophy ensures shared responsibility in creating a welcoming and supportive, inclusive, and respectful environment for all within our spaces, including those recovering from disordered eating, body shame, weight stigma, and those who occupy fat bodies. As allies, we are listening, learning, and taking action to better support the marginalized among us and leveraging our privilege as an organization to advocate, amplify, and educate our community on intersectional issues.

Mitigating Weight Stigma with Food & Body Neutrality
#MentalHealthMonday Recovery Education Session

WITH HANNAH SHARKEY OF EATING RECOVERY CENTER

In this session of the #MentalHealthMonday Recovery Edition series, Hannah Sharkey will introduce the concept of diet culture, how it shows up in our world, and the significant impacts it has on every human, specifically rolling into a new year when diet culture is rampant.

Join Hannah Sharkey, RDN, LDN, CEDS, as she discusses the importance of adequate nourishment from a variety of food groups and provides examples of ways to get curious about food. She will identify and explore the importance of food and body neutrality and how to incorporate it in our day-to-day lives. And, she will define anti-fat bias and weight stigma and discuss the stigmatizing language related to weight and bodies.

Rising Rooted: Redefining Recovery With The Next Generation

MARCH 8, 2024

This online event puts the voices and recovery stories of young women and non-binary individuals who identify with women’s communities front and center. This is an opportunity to learn from them, to hold their truth, to honor their recovery, and to follow their lead as they change the world.

“As a person who has personally struggled with mental health issues and turned to the SHE RECOVERS Foundation as a source of connection, inspiration, and support, I’m thrilled that ERC is partnering with such an incredible organization. Our two organizations share a commitment and passion for supporting individuals on their lifelong exploration of mental health, and we know that together we can do so much more!”
