Not the Same Old Song and Dance with Annie McCullough
Annie is not new to recovery and she understands the ebb and flow of different recovery pathways and patchworks. One of her patchworks is music. We’re so excited to have DJ Annie Love with us talking about the power of music in recovery.
During this engaging session of #MentalHealthMonday Annie will help us learn:
- The importance of creativity and sharing our gifts
- Being in the “flow”
- Music as medicine
ABOUT ANNIE
Annie McCullough is an inspirational social change advocate whose energy and enthusiasm helped spark the recovery advocacy movement in Canada. Drawing on her vast experience in the health care industry, her background in project and event management with her passion for recovery, she became the co-founder of Faces and Voices of Recovery (FAVOR) Canada – the first federally incorporated non-profit dedicated to advocacy in Canada. Her advocacy efforts earned her recognition by SAMHSA for her work leading and supporting Recovery Day, a national celebration of recovery which she was instrumental in growing from 2 cities to over 30 cities across the country.
Passionate about her commitment to help others who struggle with substance use, as well as behavioural and mental health issues, Annie also works as Recovery Coach and Sober Companion, teaches trauma-informed yoga, is a reiki practitioner, and is working towards her accreditation as a Canadian Certified Addiction Counselor (CCAC).
Annie funnels her life experiences, knowledge, and skills into what she knows to be her most impactful tools: education and connection. Whether through coaching, teaching, consulting, or working in her community, she knows that relationships can and do change the world
When not working in the recovery field, Annie can be found walking her pup, Frankie, and DJing at a SHE RECOVERS event near you.
