HELD: SEPTEMBER 14 – 16, 2018.
Our Event
The focus of SHE RECOVERS in LA was on celebrating strength, diversity, inclusion, and innovation by women for women in the world of recovery. We are committed to showing women (and the world) what recovery looks like so that we can help end stigma. Our event explored and showcased a wide array of innovative recovery strategies, resources, products and services, and recognized the women (past and present) who have been or continue to be the most important change makers in the women’s recovery sphere.
SHE RECOVERS in LA built on the success of our inaugural signature event, SHE RECOVERS in NYC (May 2017). As we had done in NYC, we gathered and engaged over 500 women of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds. The keynote speakers were well-known and respected thought leaders whose personalities, books and platforms have already inspired tens of millions of people. Event workshops, sponsors and exhibitors showcased the diverse range of wellness approaches, resources and products that women are seeking in order to heal and sustain body, mind and spirit.

We gathered and engaged over 500 women of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds.
Our Venue
From dazzling red carpet events and business meetings to relaxing vacations and key moments in Hollywood history, The Beverly Hilton has always been the place to see-and-be-seen. The renowned International Ballroom plays host to glamorous annual events including the Golden Globe Awards Show, which has been held at The Beverly Hilton for over 50 years.
We were able to secure a large block of rooms at the amazing SHE RECOVERS in LA rate of $299 usd per night – which we sold out and then some! Most of our event registrants stayed with us at the Beverly Hilton because they wanted to be at the venue for every minute of She Recovers in LA.
Our Program
We had a very full and exciting weekend! Highlights included:
Welcome Reception + Cheryl Strayed + Solo Travelers Meet-Up • Yoga with Taryn Strong or She Recovers Run + Sarah Blondin + Laurie Dhue + Panel + Janet Mock + Workshops • Foundation Gala Dinner with Amy Dresner + Awards Presented to Betty Ford and Tarana Burke + Silent Disco • Yoga and Meditation with Taryn Strong & Biet Simkin + Rosie Acosta + Mackenzie Phillips + Panel + Tara Mohr

We are so grateful…
to SHAMEBOOTH – our Presenting Sponsor for SHE RECOVERS in LA.
We are always excited to share the remarkable work that SHAMEBOOTH has done and continues to do to bring people’s shame stories out into the open, meet them with empathy, and banish shame for good. Check out some of the SHAMEBOOTH recordings collected specifically from women over the past several years – including a few recorded at our LA Event!

Our proudest accomplishment.
Women recovering in all areas of life are warmly welcomed at SHE RECOVERS events. This was an event for women aged 18 and older (open to all who self identified as a woman).
We are always working diligently to find ways to increase access to our events for more women. For this event, we raised enough money through a GoFundMe Campaign to be able to fill 40 scholarship spots. In addition – we were able to cover the registration costs for a number of volunteers who would not otherwise be able to join us.
